Han Hwang
Design & Development Specialist
Han has over 20 years of extensive hands-on experience in R&D / Product Development in Australian manufacturing environment.
He has delivered many successful products from start to finish in diverse industries. The products vary in size, material and complexity across different industries, which include medical devices, consumer electronics/goods, height safety personal protection equipment, and architectural hardware.
Prior to HD Designlink, Han worked at Cochlear, Allegion-Brio and 3M-Capital Safety as In-house Design Engineer, and on a long list of innovative projects in top tier Design Consultancies for clients such as Telstra, Philips, RØDE Microphone and Nestle-Purina. Some of the examples he has delivered are:
- Cochlear CP802 and Nucleus 5 Sound Processors (2010 Australian Engineering Excellence Award & Red Dot Design award winner),
- Betachek G5 Blood Glucose Meter (2003 Australian Design award winner),
- 3M DBI-Sala Rope-Safe Fall Arrestor and Rope-Mate Mechanical Prusik (Patented),
- Monolix Slim Ring Box (our own successful innovative product)
- And many more successful launches of clients' work with patents
The experience has equipped Han with design practice and understanding of rigorous processes in V&V testing and documentation under the requirements and standards of AS/NZS, ANSI and ISO/EN, QMS - ISO 9001/ ISO13485, and medical regulatory compliance (TGA, FDA and TUV).
Han is a hardcore designer. He specialises in delivering solutions that are safe, high performance in extreme environments, weather proof, child tamper proof, durable and reliable. He thrives on technical and mechanical challenges and finds satisfaction from delivering through innovation, adopting latest technologies, materials and processes, pushing boundaries and implementing it to a new tangible product. His drive/motivation comes from the satisfaction of customers benefitting from product use/application and ultimately adding value to the client's business.

Eric Doong
Manufacturing & Sourcing Director
Eric is HD Designlink Manufacturing Director and has over 20 years of experience in dealing with factories and suppliers across various manufacturing fields and forwarders in China, HongKong and Taiwan with a customer base of 15 countries around the world.
He co-owns 2 factories in southern China focussing on OEM / ODM / contract manufacturing products for the export market only.
He listens, understands customers' needs, communicates them to manufacturing partners in China and delivers the desired result with efficient and responsive approaches.
Eric is an Australian-Chinese and knows what are the essential ingredients to grow a business and maintain its competitiveness, managing the right mix of the positioning of business, quality products/services, buying/spending balance and looking after Australian customers.
Eric is an expert in manufacturing processes with hands-on experience and practical approach to DFM (design for manufacture) to provide easy to manufacture = cost effectiveness on tooling and parts
He is fluent in English, Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin) and travels regularly around the world to meet clients on their premises or in factories.
Intellectual Property Protection
David Clark
IP Director (Alliance)
Clark IP Founder, David Clark, is a registered Australian and NZ Patent Attorney with 25 years experience working in private practice. Having worked as an engineer and inventor, he brings a unique mix of practical experience and technical expertise to his patent and registered design practice.
David complements his patent expertise with a strong business acumen. Having successfully managed patent practices at a major first tier law firm, he is able to provide a product which is not only technically accurate but also commercially meaningful and relevant. This is achieved by listening to the client as the technology expert and working collaboratively to translate this information into quality work.
He has extensive IP experience with technologies including mechanical engineering, mining, medical, software, digital signal processing, electronic gaming, plastics, environmental, agricultural machinery and more. Our practitioners avoid patent and other IP jargon and explain things in plain English so you clearly understand and see real value in our work.
David enjoys working with clever people and their new ideas. But what he really enjoys is being a part of your success. He listens to you and your commercial objectives, offering advice that goes beyond just submitting applications.

Frank Fornasari
Engineering Director (Alliance)
eCADna Engineering founder, Franco Fornasari is a mechanical/aeronautical engineer with over 25 years of in-depth practical experience in product development and engineering services for clients in many industries including aerospace, rolling stock, medical products, industrial design consultancies and general engineering. Services provided by eCADna Engineering include 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks specialist), preparation of detailed engineering documentation, structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), photorealistic rendering, prototyping and technical support to manufacture.
Franco has extensive experience in aeronautical engineering, including design of aircraft structures, involvement in space vehicle design studies and support to aircraft component and assembly manufacturing activities in Australia & Canada.
Collaboration with other engineering and design specialists has been a feature of many projects undertaken by eCADna Engineering. Examples of completed projects include:
